Camp

Community Hoops offers the most unique summer basketball camp in the Austin area. Modeled after the Basketball in the Barrio Camp in El Paso, TX, Community Hoops Camp provides children from Austin with 3 days worth of activities that teach music, the arts, literacy, culture, and basketball.

Inspired to teach the importance of the organizational pillars of Academics, Attitude, Effort, and Excellence, camp coaches volunteer their time and enthusiastically share their gifts with the children each day. Teams of ten campers are led by two coaches, giving each child an abundance of attention and care. A station model ensures that all children are given a plethora of learning opportunities throughout each day.

Each day brings special guests from all walks of life, including famous athletes and coaches, authors, musicians, and public servants. Community Hoops camp offers campers a chance to learn from the experts!

Camp is available to children from ages 6-10 that live in East Austin. Both lunch and an ice cream snack are served each day of camp. Campers receive a Community Hoops t-shirt, a basketball, a jump rope, a motivational poster, an age-appropriate book, a musical instrument, and 3-days worth of memories. The cost for each camper is $1.
